ABOUT ME

こんにちは, everyone! Welcome to Konnichiyall! I'm so excited you're here. My name is Pat, and for the last three years I’ve been living in Japan and teaching myself Japanese from zero. Although I moved here with basically no language ability, I recently passed the JLPT N2, and now I want to share what I've learned about self-study and language learning with you all!

I’m originally from the US, and my initial interest in Japan came from - you guessed it - anime (my current obsession is One Piece). Outside of studying and anime, I love to eat, hike, take pictures, and travel, both inside of Japan and out. I also started practicing yoga about six months back, and I'm really loving it!

I’ve spent my time here working as an English teacher, and I lived in the countryside of the Kansai region for two years. A year ago I moved to the Kanto region, and currently live with my girlfriend in the larger Tokyo area.
